In 2016, Melbourne celebrated the 10 year Anniversary (15-26 March) of the 2006 Commonwealth Games.

As the games was a celebration of sport and culture, the emblem design symbolises the spirit of athletic and artistic performance, united in a singular image. More than 7000 athletes and officials from 71 nations took part in the games – the largest event of its type in Melbourne since the 1956 Olympic Games. An estimated 1.5 billion worldwide audience watched the Opening Ceremony at the MCG. 11 days of competition delivered Australia’s most successful games ever, winning 84 gold amongst a total of 221 medals.

R-Co was the Visual Identity Consultant to the Games and oversaw all brand identity and image deliverables over a three year period.
